Pets at Home: Projects to Spoil Your Fur-Babies

Love Your Pets?

Hi all! Here are two projects I recently completed for Made+Remade (part of the DIYNetwork). They are pet related projects I came up with for my two fur-babies.

Before I share the projects, let me introduce my two little boys :-)

This is Rocky

Rock y is  a 1.5 year old Dachsund/Beagle mix. I adopted him from a local rescue.  He’s sweet as pie. Don’t let those baby browns fool you. He will chase and terrorize all the birds in your yard and has a hound’s bay that could peel paint off the wall. But isn’t he sooo cute?

This is Crash

Crash is a 1.5 year old Blue Heeler (aka Australian Cattle Dog). He’s very high energy and super smart; true to the breed. I adopted him from a local animal control center. He is heartworm positive and now undergoing treatment (that’s a whole other post that’s coming). He’s a wild as he looks (heelers are part Dingo, you know)!

Both of the boys are a perfect compliment to each other. They balance each other out and oddly, match the temperament of my two sons. Strange, huh? As I promised, here are the two projects I created in honor of my two new furbabies.

Before I go, I just wanted to mention one other special fur-baby that was an important part of my life for 13.5 years. His name was Scout and he passed away in Oct 2015.

My heart broke into a million pieces when he passed away. I didn’t think I could love another dog again. It was my love for him that convince me to rescue other dogs and get involve with a pet rescue. My husband and I rescued Scout back in 2002 from a rural shelter in Minnesota. He was a blue heeler/lab mix and will be forever in my heart.
